Warner Music Group (WMG) is the third largest conglomerate and family of recording studios in the "Big Three Record Companies". The group was founded in 1958 and was called Warner Bros. Records. Then in 1971 it was renamed WEA (Warner Bros. - Elektra - Atlantic) and existed for three decades.
Today, the group is called Warner Music Group (WMG), having been founded in 2004 as a result of its separation from Time Warner. Despite the name, Time Warner no longer has any ownership rights over Warner Music Group. Warner Music Group also has a music publishing house called Warner/Chappell Music, which is one of the largest in the world.
For Warner Music Russia is a company that is part of Warner Music Group's global international structure. We built the site on its original software core for Russian clients and users, taking into account the general branding of Warner Music Group.
Warner Music Russia (Gala Records until 2013) was founded in 1988 and was the first private record company in the USSR.
For more than 20 years, Gala Records has been the official representative and exclusive distributor of EMI Music in Russia and the CIS. In 2013, Gala Records became part of the Warner Music Group and today represents one of the largest catalogues of international releases.
Contributing to the formation of a civilized music market in Russia, the company has been a member of the International Federation of Phonogram Producers (IFPI) since 1996, and in 2002 became one of the founders and a board member of the Russian Phonographic Association.
